Tell me a Story

I have not been into the dating game for a long time.I have enjoyed my share of dating men, but then its been a while since I have dated some one.Especially, since I was in a long term relationship till a few weeks ago.The relationship did not end too well and I missed being a part of a couple. I am sure anyone who has been in a long term relationship knows what I am talking about.

After a few weeks of me feeling all lonely and sad, a friend of mine decided that it was high time I went out on a date, just to get me to socialize, if for nothing else.

Dating men again? OK I was up for it, but then she did the one thing I did not want. She set me up on a blind date. Oh my god! I was not in favour of this idea of going on blind dates. I had once gone on a blind date with a guy I met on an on-line dating site who seemed nice,at the time. It turned out to be a total disaster.

She told me I had to give this date a shot and for the effort that she had put into getting this date set up, I decided to be adventurous.

I was to meet this guy at a really classy restaurant at 8.00pm. I was there on time and started walking towards the table that was reserved for us. I had these images in my head of what my date would be like. I thought it would be a huge nightmare just like my past on-line dating experience. With these thoughts in my mind I reached the table and looked up. To my surprise, it turned out to be a guy I knew from my college days. My blind date was not unknown to me after all. He was a senior from university and I had spoken to him a few times. He seemed like a perfect gentleman. dating men had just become fun again! I felt at ease talking to him.

We spoke about life, movies, what we had been up to and it turned out to be a fantastic evening.Once we were done with dinner, he drove me back home. We exchanged numbers and email ids and have been in touch ever since. He has turned out to be a wonderful friend.

That night, I did not forget to call my friend who was the one who had decided that it was time I started dating men again and stopped brooding. I could not thank her enough.
