Tell me a Story

I have never been good at relationships. I always seem to fall for the wrong guy. They either get arrested, or drinks too much alcohol or constantly getting into fights, the list is endless! Should I give up on finding the perfect man who makes my heart flutter, takes me out to dance and to end the night, by watching a beautiful sunrise together? Or is my dream too much of a fantasy for it to become real?

I decided to find my perfect match by using dating services. When I found a dating service in my home area, I contacted them by phone to request an application form.

It took a while to fill out the application form when it arrived, as there were many questions that I needed to answer, so that the dating service can match my profile to many others. And if a match has been found, a date will be arrange by the dating service. Sound quite effortless on my behalf. But will this work?

My heart was pounding, as I made my way to the mail box, down the road from my house. Wish me luck.

Weeks have passed and still I heard no reply. In the far distant, I could see only myself alone on the dance floor and then watching a beautiful sunrise all alone. I guess, this is fate. My dreams will never become real. I decided to give up on the dating service.

Months passed as I continued my daily routine. Until one day, when I got in from work, a large envelope waited for me behind my front door. As I kicked off my shoes and threw my coat and bag on the settee. I tore open the envelope and discovered it was the profile of my perfect match from the dating service.

As I read the profile, Tom sounded like a really nice guy, and he was very good looking. He also had the same interests.

So here's goes nothing. I returned the form to agree to have a date with Tom.

I received a reply within days and a date has been arranged for the following weekend. I didn't know whether my heart was fluttering or pounding with nerves.

The date was perfect, Tom gave me the most beautiful flowers and took me out to dance. But we never saw the sunrise. The night ended with his soft touch as he kissed me goodnight.

From that day on, we were inseparable.
