I'd been speed dating once before and ended up with 3 matches. The male friends I'd gone with, all of whom had ticked me to make sure I got some matches. Not quite the result I'd been looking for but I don't blame them, since they adore me like a little sister.

Not being one to give up, I went a second time with my friend Sarah. Trying on at least 50 outfits, a bottle of wine to calm the nerves and a double vodka for good measure before we arrived.

Heading straight for the bar on arrival, I had a quick glance around and spotted a tall, good looking guy in a stripy shirt clutching a bottle of beer and laughing with his mate. I pointed him out to Sarah and announced, 'I'm having him'. Little did I know.

Meanwhile, the tall good looking guy in the stripy shirt, Peter, who had also had a fair few beers before arriving. He almost cancelled. But lucky for me, he'd decided not to.

Having already decided I fancied this guy, I was extra nervous when I had my three minute 'date' with him, despite the alcohol. Clearly he was getting my 'tick', even if I didn't get on with him that well during our three minute date. But we did, and naturally he got my 'tick', and I got his.

We arranged a date in a restaurant for the following week. Again, my pre-date preparation was trying on my whole wardrobe and having a good bottle of wine before arriving. I was more nervous than I had ever been in my life! I needn't have worried, it was a fantastic night. We spent the night in a lovely restaurant, it was a lovely candle light dinner, I can remember thinking surely you are not supposed to get on this well with someone on a first date. During the date we'd discussed what we wrote about each other on our score cards. Not exactly politically correct but amusing all the same. Peter had written 'brunette, petite sexy body, just looking at her makes you adore her, candle light dinner type' about me, and I had simply wrote 'gorgeously sexy'. I'm not quite sure which is worse, but it will make a good wedding speech.

We met again the following week to have a candle light picnic in his back garden, where I was greeted by his dog, Louie, who seem to adore me as much as his owner. We chatted away, till Peter turned to look at me and said "I can't believe I'm with someone as sexy as you and I hate it when I'm not with you. I know I'm going abit fast but will you move in with me?". As I'm already smitten by him, I agreed to move in.

It has been a year since I moved in, and neither of us ever expected to meet our perfect partners through speed dating, but we both have no doubt that we will be spending the rest of our lives together.
