Tell me a Story

Cynthia was devastated when she heard of her idol Michael Jackson’s death. London was in morning as was the world, over the terrible loss. All she could do was remember all the times she had seen him growing up, on stage, on TV, and/or at different places around the world. The first time she saw him on the Ed Sullivan show and she it at first it wasn’t that exciting, it was more like amazement in seeing a little boy, only a few years older than her. He was out there with all those lights, with people watching as he and his brothers were dancing and singing. As the years went by and she grew up watching him grow too she was finally going to go see her idol. Michael Jackson was coming to play several concerts right where she lived London.

She was also just getting into the london dating scene. Cynthia and Jerry were becoming a couple. The adorable way she always said hello to him made Jerry ask her out the first time. They had a class together in the biology wing of the university they both attended. Jerry and she had only spoken in passing before. When she said yes to have a cup of coffee one morning before class one day he was prepared to be turned down she was so adorable looking up into his eyes like she was really seeing him for the first time. Their friendship only grew from that day on.

Now three months later, the only thing he was certain of, was he had to get his hands on some of the tickets for at least one of the 50 concerts Michael Jackson had scheduled in London the next summer. Now of course her idol wouldn’t be coming. He had turned them back in for the money he had spent and instead bought them both tickets to fly to California. There she might not see Michael again and for the last time, but she would be close to her idol while the world said their goodbyes. exciting as all the TV coverage is, Cynthia is hopeful that she will get a glimpse of one of the family.

A friend of Cynthia’s had auditioned to be a dancer on-stage with Michael. She is an adorable redhead and full of the exciting vigor one sees in a really good dancer. She didn't make the final cut and she was disappointed of course. Vowing to never give up, she continues her dancing lessons every day after work.
